Always pack a spare outfit in your carry on// especially if your flight is long, you will want to change into clean clothes before your destination.

Wear comfortable shoes// chances are you’ll be standing in line for a while and sore feet are not fun.  Converse are great for traveling because they’re comfy, they go with everything, and are easy to slip on and off when going through customs.

Dress in layers// you never know if you’ll be hot or cold on your flight.  A chunky scarf with a cardigan over a t-shirt and jeans works well.  Even if you don’t end up wearing your sweater, it’s not a big deal to carry it around.  Better to be safe than sorry!

Just in case you have to open your suitcase// put all your underwear, bras, and feminine products in a small bag inside your suitcase.  If by some bad luck you must open up your suitcase, you do not want all your undergarments flying around everywhere.

Never put all your money in one place// put some money in your carry-on, in your jacket pocket, in your wallet, and in your luggage.  If you lose your jacket, you still have some cash in your carry-on, and if your luggage gets lost, you still have some in your wallet.

Things to pack in your carry-on// extra change of clothes, face wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, phone charger, earbuds, basic cosmetics to brush up (i.e. coverup and chapstick), money, feminine products, dry shampoo, and a good book.

Make good food choices// this could be the most important tip of all.  There is always lots of fast food in airports which is never a healthy choice.  If you get motion sickness, greasy, sugary foods will not help.  No one on your flight wants to see you get sick and neither do you.
