Appetizer: Fig Preserve & Blue Cheese Bruschetta

  • 1 baguette, sliced

  • 1/4 stick of butter

  • Fig preserves

  • Blue cheese, cut into chunks

  • Basil, for garnish

  1. Cut the baguette.  Make the pieces about a half-inch thick.

  2. Melt 1/4 stick of butter in a small bowl in the microwave.  Then, spread the butter onto the bread, and toast it in a non-stick pan until they are all golden.

  3. Allow the bread to cool.

  4. Spread the fig preserves on top.

  5. Crumble blue cheese on the fig preserves, and use as much as you like; however, remember that blue cheese is very strong, so a little goes a long way.

  6. Finally, rip up some basil and put it on the top as a garnish.  This makes them look as good as they taste!

  7. Enjoy!
