The Importance of Finding Time for YOU

Hello beautiful readers!

In today’s fast-paced culture, it is really easy to get caught up in the constant commotion of our daily lives.  With all of our priorities, it allows people to neglect the lost art of finding solitude. This important activity is diminishing because many people believe that those who do it are lonely or sad; however, that is not the case!  In fact, finding your own time has both mental and physical benefits.

Solitude helps you relax and release stress// especially with the new school year beginning, people need to find ways of releasing that terrible feeling that comes along with school, stress. When one is able to spend some alone time, he or she is able to clear his or her mind.  This process helps people calm down, focus, and think more clearly.

Finding your own time helps increase concentration// for many people, it is extremely hard to concentrate when multiple things are going on around them; therefore, it is important to remove oneself from those distractions.  You may even realize that you are getting your homework done before midnight!

Solitude helps you work through issues more effectively// when a person has to make a big decision, it is hard to process all of the aspects that play into choosing the right path when one is surrounded by constant commotion.  So, that is why it is important for everyone to find a quiet area.  This allows that person to be alone with his or her thoughts.

Being by yourself can lead to a more creative outlook on life// many people follow a specific schedule every single day.  By doing this, and not taking a break for yourself, it makes you unable to think beneath the surface.  Therefore, when a person spends some alone time, his or her brain is able to engage in deep thought.  By doing this, it causes people to not just think about the tangible things in front of them, but a more creative and deeper reality.

Solitude can help with other relationships// finding solitude doesn't just mean sitting in the middle of a dark room by yourself all the time; no, not at all!  In fact, those that have spent some time alone with their thoughts shared that it actually strengthens their relationships.  This is because they were able to realize who they are as a person as well as what they desire in life.  By finding out these key components, it is much easier to figure out who you want to be around.  It could also help you appreciate the other relationships that you already have.

While it seems hard to find alone time in the fast-paced culture we live in, there are some simple steps into achieving just that!  For example, one could simply close his or her door, wake up twenty minutes earlier, or disconnect from everyday electronics.  There are endless ways of finding solitude.  How will you do it?
