Hit Snooze: 5 Minute Hairstyles
The school year may have just started, but the temptation to hit the snooze button is already in full swing. Late nights doing homework (or binging Netflix) leave you feeling like an extra five minutes in the morning; however, those extra few minutes come at a cost: losing valuable time for hair and makeup. Here are a few quick and easy hairstyles that won’t have you stressing over hitting snooze.
Dutch Braid// think of this as the French braid’s cooler sister. Dutch braids have been huge lately-- they’re super easy and take no time. Think of them as the opposite of the French braid, taking pieces under the center strand instead of over and adding pieces on as you go. The end result is super chic and no one will ever know it only took you two minutes.
Fishtail Bun// another hairstyle that looks complicated but takes no effort. Start by putting your hair in a high ponytail like you would for a regular topknot. Fishtail braid the ponytail and secure it at the end with an elastic, then wrap it around the base. Your end result is a simple bun with some pretty detail.
Khaleesi Braids// not only is GOT’s Daenerys Queen of Meereen, she’s the queen of fabulous braids. Take some inspiration from the Mother of Dragons and braid two sections of your hair back and combine them into one braid. This takes a little more time, but is still super simple and can be elevated for a dressier look.
Half Up Pony// made popular by Ariana Grande, the half up ponytail takes a solid thirty seconds and looks super cute. Flip your head upside down and gather the front half into a ponytail at the crown of your head, tighten it, and you’re done. Super simple and works with any texture for any occasion.
Embrace Your Natural Hair!// the quickest way to do your hair in the morning? Rock what you’ve got and embrace your natural hair. Whether it’s straight, curly, wavy, or somewhere in between, your natural hair is part of who you are and people will appreciate that.
